The Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary.
The
Annunciation:
Gabriel greets Mary: "Hail full of grace...Blessed art thou among
women" He tells her she is to have a son and he shall be called
Jesus. Mary asks how this is possible since she is a virgin. The angel
Gabriel explains she will conceive by the Holy Spirit. Mary agrees, and the
Word becomes flesh. [Go Back]
The
Visitation:
After the annunciation, Mary immediately sets out to visit and assist her
cousin Elizabeth. Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit greets her, calling
her "blessed are you among woman, and blest is the fruit of your womb."
Mary replies with the Magnificat. She stays three months before returning
home. [Go Back]
The
Birth of our Lord:
Joseph and Mary travel to Bethlehem for the census. While there, Mary gives
birth to our Lord, wraps him in swaddling clothes, and lays him in a manger,
for there is no room at the inn. The sheperds and astrologers come to pay
homage to our Lord and Savior. [Go

Moses, Mary and Joseph present Jesus in the temple. Simon cries out
